[PM Circle]: Insider view on building products for different audiences

This is our third event targeted at recent and aspiring product managers in the CMU community. You will have unique opportunity to learn what it takes to build a product that target a particular audiences (B2E, B2B, D2C etc) at some of the brightest companies in the world.
Event Topics:
- How does the PM role vary across different industries and products?
- What skills to develop now to succeed in the retail industry?
- What you can bring to the table if you don't have engineering background?
- Handling hypergrowth and restructuring as a PM in the highly technical space like infrastructure monitoring
- Leveraging CMU network to succeed as a PM

Reinventing Reality: Exploring the Future of VR with Schell Games

As part of our Hiring Spotlight Series, CMU TEPIT hosts special guest Jesse Schell, CEO and founder of Schell Games, a team of one hundred thirty people in Pittsburgh, PA who strive to make the world’s greatest educational and entertainment games, including Yale Medical's PlayForward: Elm City Stories, Water Bears VR, HoloLAB Champions, the Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood games, and Happy Atoms. Schell Games also creates pure entertainment content, such as the award-winning VR game I Expect You To Die and Until You Fall, a VR sword fighting game. Jesse also serves as Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University. Jesse has worked on a wide variety of innovative game and simulation projects for both entertainment and education, but he is best known for his award-winning book The Art of Game Design: A Book of Lenses and his predictions about the future of gaming technology. He is a previous chair of the International Game Developers Association and former Creative Director of the Disney Virtual Reality Studio.

Justin is a Director of AI Research at Avrio AI - https://www.avrioai.com/. Avrio AI is a startup that develops AI solutions that supports recruiting, matching jobs, and resumes for customers.
Previously, Justin was the Speech and NLU Scientist at Jibo where he developed the Question Answering and NLU capability for the social robot.
Meet & converse with fellow alumni who are passionate about AI/ML.
We will start off with Justin sharing his journey working as an ML engineer in various early startups followed by an AMA and then split into breakout groups of 4 to allow for individual conversations.

CMU T&E End-of-Year Game Night
