Demo Day is Today!

CMU VentureBridge - Demo Day 2022ย
Wednesday, September 21, 2022, 1 - 5ย PM PT / 4ย - 8 PM ET
Theย VentureBridgeย (VB) program, part of theย Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship, is proud to invite you to its VB '22 Demo Day. The Demo Day features CMU-alumni founded startups that have received pre-seed funding (SAFE note) from Carnegie Mellon.ย Since 2018, as part of its summer accelerator, the VB program has invested in over 47 startups who continue to grow and have raised over $95 million dollars in Seed and Series A follow-on funding from top-tier institutional investors.ย
Attend the demo day on Sep 21st toย watch the VB '22 cohort of startups and select VB alumni startups present their innovations.ย Register to receive your invite. Corporate Startup Lab Case Competition

Sponsored by Optum Startup Studio and hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, Corporate Startup Lab is proud to announce its first ever Case Competition for the Fall of 2022!ย
THEME: Health Equity
One of the ongoing concerns in the healthcare industry is an imperfect realization of equity across all services and care. Fundamentals such as education, access, nutrition, and specialized care are not evenly distributed.ย The prompt of this Case Competition will seek to determine how a problem in Healthcare Equity can be solved through transformative innovation ideas, products, or services.
PRIZES:
The top three teams will receive cash prizes totaling $20,000!
$12,000 for 1st Place
$6,000 for 1st Runner Up
$2,000 for 2nd Runner Up
All Graduate students, be they a Master's, Ph.D., or M.D. student from a United States-based college or university, are eligible and welcome to apply!

Understanding startup equity & compounding your wealth

Compound's CEO will discuss the basics of startup equity, options exercising strategies tech employees should know about, and tax optimizations to help you compound your wealth.
โWhat will they cover?
1. โUnderstanding startup equity (e.g. the basics of ISOs, NSOs, AMT)
2. โHow to negotiate your startup offer (e.g. what to ask for, how to get more equity)
3. โKey financial optimizations that can help you build your wealth (e.g. early exercising)
4. โHorror stories that startup employees should be aware of (e.g. options expiring, golden handcuffs)
5. โHow to tax optimize your angel investments (e.g. QSBS)
